We were introduced to Sandan through the owner of the guest house we stayed at in Sihanoukville, and we couldn’t have been happier with the recommendation. Given the generally high prices and lackluster quality we encountered in town, discovering Sandan was a true relief. Despite it being a quiet, rainy Sunday evening, the restaurant staff warmly welcomed us with open arms. The presence of a supervising teacher, carefully observing and guiding the trainees, indicated their dedication to cultivating a staff capable of delivering top-notch international hospitality. The service was impeccable, accompanied by genuine smiles throughout.
As for the food, it was fantastic. Sandan offers a diverse selection of local and Western dishes, satisfying a range of culinary preferences. The restaurant’s pleasant atmosphere, enhanced by soft background music, an open-plan layout, and tasteful local artwork adorning the walls, contributed to a delightful dining experience. What’s more, the prices were incredibly reasonable. In a town that appears to have lost its way and surrendered to developers, Sandan stands out as a rare beacon of quality that deserves our support.
